Trump was keen to show is approval of his Vice President during last nights televised debate between Vice President Pence and Kamala Harris, as reported by Breitbart https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/10/07/donald-trump-mike-pence-won-big/# .
Tweeting regularly during the debate, he referred to Pence as ‘doing great’ and called Harris a ‘gaffe machine’. He highlighted the moment when Pence reminded the electorate about Trump being the non-establishment candidate, and about how he had inspired a movement in Americans, believing that they would come out again in force to defend their President in the election.
He also tweeted a graph showing how Harris, when she was the ‘Top Cop’, or rather the California Attorney General, that she had been responsible for the incarceration of mainly black people, when compared to other ethnic groups.
Trump’s view was that Pence had ‘won big!’ in the contest between the two.
One of the key features, which Trump was wise to highlight, was Pence drawing attention to the fight between the career politician and the still-relative newcomer. Trump has moved as many mountains as he can during the past four years, in order to make sure that he has kept his promises. However, he has been regularly thwarted by the establishment politicians, in the shape of the Democrats in the House, led by Pelosi, who have blocked him at every turn, especially since they regained control.
Take for instance the issue over the wall at the Mexican border, which led to the most recent shutdown over funding. Trump had to go to the extremes of using emergency funding to get the resources needed to continue the project, after having to make so many compromises with the House.
He also was right to call out Harris’s record at the California Attorney General. Running on a ticket of being the answer to the minority communities, due to being a Black Asian woman, it is an important picture the Democrats are tyring to paint that they are the answer for the black community, particularly with the recent protests. But looking at these figures, and her being keen to point out that she is a prosecutor, it shows that the colour of her skin is irrelevant to the argument, if her actions show that she uses her position of power to maintain a racial bias. Trump, by contrast, has tried to lift the black communities out of poverty, with the creation of jobs to help them help themselves. Harris’ record is indeed very poor by contrast.
